TLDR Rat hair follicle stem cells may help heal skin wounds.
This study presents a detailed methodology for isolating, culturing, and characterizing hair follicle stem cells from Sprague–Dawley rats, highlighting their potential in skin regeneration. The research confirms the identity of these cells through immunohistochemical analysis and real-time PCR, assessing their growth kinetics, colony formation, and tri-differentiation capacity. The secretome of these cells, rich in biofactors with wound healing properties, was also analyzed. The findings suggest that rat hair follicle stem cells could be a valuable resource for regenerative medicine, particularly in therapeutic interventions for skin regeneration.
