TLDR Engineered vesicles from macrophages help hair growth in mice and humans.
This study demonstrates that engineered extracellular vesicle mimetics (EMs) derived from macrophages (MAC-EMs) can effectively promote hair regrowth in mice and enhance hair follicle growth in human samples. MAC-EMs were shown to increase the proliferation of dermal papilla (DP) cells and activate various signaling pathways, leading to improved hair regeneration by regulating the hair follicle cycle. The findings suggest that MAC-EMs are promising candidates for large-scale production and potential therapeutic use in treating hair loss in humans.
