TLDR Heat-treated Limosilactobacillus fermentum with menthol, salicylic acid, and panthenol promotes hair growth and balances scalp microbiome in people with androgenetic alopecia.
This study demonstrated that a hair tonic containing heat-treated Limosilactobacillus fermentum LM1020 (HT-LM1020), menthol, salicylic acid, and panthenol significantly improved hair density and scalp microbiome balance in individuals with androgenetic alopecia (AGA). Conducted as a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial with 50 participants, the experimental group showed a significant increase in hair density and microbiome diversity compared to the placebo group, with no adverse effects reported. HT-LM1020 also regulated key growth factors and reduced 5α-reductase gene expression, contributing to hair growth.
