TLDR Finasteride does not cause sexual dysfunction in men with hair loss.
A survey-based study involving 762 men (663 finasteride users and 99 non-users) found no significant differences in sexual dysfunction between finasteride users and non-users, as assessed by the Arizona Sexual Experience Scale (ASEX). Regression analysis showed that self-reported libido loss and reduced sexual performance, rather than finasteride use, were predictors of higher ASEX scores. The study concludes that finasteride does not cause sexual dysfunction in men with androgenetic alopecia, aligning with findings from other large controlled studies.
