TLDR Microneedle therapy combined with serum effectively increases hair count in people with hair loss, with no side effects.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of scalp repair serum microneedle combined therapy for moderate to severe androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 20 patients (4 males and 16 females). The results showed a significant increase in hair count, with an average increase of 42.6 strands and an efficiency rate of 100%. The worse the baseline situation, the better the total improvement. No adverse reactions were observed. The study also found that the efficacy of microneedles combined with a 5% minoxidil solution is significantly better than using microneedles or minoxidil alone. The treatment should not exceed 4 weeks. Male patients had a higher hair count compared to female patients. However, due to the limited sample size, further research is needed.
