TLDR Stem-cell therapy shows promise for skin conditions but needs more research.
Stem-cell therapy has shown promise in treating various dermatological conditions, including autoimmune skin disorders, atopic dermatitis, skin aging, wound healing, scar repair, and androgenetic alopecia, due to the unique properties of stem cells such as self-renewal and differentiation. Adipose-derived stem cells are particularly appealing for their abundance and ease of collection. While preclinical and clinical studies have yielded encouraging results, more randomized, controlled trials and standardized treatments are necessary to fully understand and optimize the use of stem cells in dermatology, especially for aesthetic applications.
