TLDR Bio-pulsed stimulation increases production of beneficial vesicles from bird stem cells that improve skin and hair cell functions.
The study investigated the effects of bio-pulsed small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) derived from avian mesenchymal stem cells (AMSCs) on skin fibroblasts and hair follicle cells. The AMSCs were treated with Polygonum multiflorum Thunb extract, resulting in AMSC-sEVs that contained more exosomal proteins and RNAs than the control. These bio-pulsed AMSC-sEVs significantly enhanced cell proliferation, wound healing, collagen expression, and anti-inflammation in human skin fibroblasts (HSFs) and human follicle dermal papilla cells (HFDPCs). They also improved hair follicle activity by upregulating the expression of follicle activity-associated genes and cell proliferative genes, and decreasing the expression of apoptosis genes. The study suggests potential applications of bio-pulsed AMSC-sEVs in skin and hair regeneration therapies.
