TLDR Fractional laser therapy is a promising, effective, and minimally invasive treatment for hair loss.
Fractional laser treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) has demonstrated significant efficacy and safety, providing a minimally invasive alternative to traditional treatments. The review highlights studies over the past 15 years, showing improvements in hair density, thickness, and overall regrowth with minimal adverse effects. Notable findings include significant hair loss improvement in 5 males using the N25 mode laser, better outcomes in 30 males combining minoxidil with laser treatment, and effective results in 16 patients using laser therapy alone or with PRP injections. Combining fractional lasers with medications like finasteride and minoxidil enhances outcomes, though challenges such as the need for multiple sessions and high costs remain. Future research should optimize laser parameters and explore long-term efficacy and synergistic effects with other treatments.
