TLDR Laser treatment improves hair density and increases growth factors in androgenetic alopecia.
The study evaluated the efficacy of 1,550-nm Erbium-Glass Fractional Laser Treatment on androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and its effect on the expression of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) and Wnt/β-Catenin. The study involved 23 participants, both males and females, who received 12 treatments at 2-week intervals. The results showed that the treatment was effective in improving hair density and hair-shaft diameter, and the expression of Wnt10A and IGF-1 mRNA increased after the treatment. The study concluded that 1,550-nm Erbium-Glass Fractional Laser Treatment is a safe and effective treatment for AGA.
