Post-finasteride syndrome in young men showed loss of penis sensitivity, anhedonia and muscle loss as common long-term adverse effects. Finasteride guidelines recommend 1mg as safe but warn sexual side effects reverse on stopping, advising counseling. Dutasteride 0.5mg in Korean men was well-tolerated in a post-marketing study of 712 men, with sexual side effects under 1.5%. Intra-operative PRP during FUE transplant gave faster density and less graft loss than saline. 5% minoxidil foam increased hair counts by weeks 16-24. 5-ALA and GHK peptide complex increased hair count versus placebo. One session of low-level laser did not improve transplant growth. Finasteride and minoxidil increased terminal density without converting vellus hairs. Any baldness was associated with higher fatal prostate cancer risk. Early-onset androgenetic alopecia was linked to higher metabolic syndrome prevalence. Women with pattern hair loss had lower vitamin D3 than controls.
