The study compared the efficacy of intradermal botulinum toxin A (BTA) and intradermal minoxidil in treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 30 patients, divided into two groups of 15 each. Both treatments were administered over three sessions, with follow-ups at 20 weeks. Results showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups in terms of total, terminal, and vellus hair counts. However, both treatments led to significant improvements in hair counts, with 53.3% of the BTA group and 66.7% of the minoxidil group showing improvement. A negative correlation was found between age and terminal hair change, and between AGA duration and total hair count change in the BTA group. Both treatments are effective and minimally invasive, but minoxidil is more cost-effective.
