Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 (DPP-4) is an enzyme that plays a role in glucose metabolism by breaking down incretin hormones, which help regulate insulin levels in the body. It is also known as CD26 and is involved in immune system functions. Inhibitors of DPP-4 are used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes to improve blood sugar control.
