TLDR Created material boosts hair growth and kills bacteria for wound healing.
The study developed a wound dressing material that promotes hair follicle regeneration and inhibits bacterial growth. The material is based on Zn-doped hollow mesoporous silica nanospheres that release Zn ions and antibacterial drugs, resulting in a synergistic antibacterial effect. The material had a better antibacterial effect than other wound dressings and promoted hair follicle regeneration. The study concludes that the developed membrane has potential for use in wound healing due to its multifunctional properties.
