The study investigated the spatial variation of total hair follicle density (THFD) in goats at different body levels and identified four genes associated with THFD. This research enhances the understanding of genetic characterization and spatial variation of THFD, offering valuable insights for the future development and utilization of THFD genes in cashmere goats.
