TLDR NCBP3, SDHA, and PTPRA are the best genes for accurate goat skin research.
The study identified and validated optimal housekeeping genes (HKGs) for goat skin research using transcriptome data from 39 goat skin tissue samples. It concluded that the combination of NCBP3, SDHA, and PTPRA was the most stable for normalizing gene expression, outperforming traditional HKGs like ACTB and GAPDH. The research emphasized the importance of using multiple stable HKGs to improve accuracy and demonstrated the advantages of RNA-seq data for HKG selection. The study also introduced a new algorithm, ComprFinder, for a more accurate evaluation of HKGs, and suggested that the identified HKGs could be applicable to skin research in other species.
