TLDR Injecting a peptide-hyaluronic acid mix improved hair growth in men with hair loss and was safe.
The study investigated the safety and efficacy of a needle-free electronically controlled pneumatic injection (EPI) of a peptide-hyaluronic acid (P-HA) combination, specifically DR.CYJ Hair Filler, in treating male androgenic alopecia (MAGA). The study involved 12 male subjects aged between 30 and 45 years, who received 4 treatments over an 8-week period. Six months after the treatments, results showed a statistically significant increase in the number of hairs and follicular units, as well as enhanced cumulative hair thickness. The mean total hair density increased by 38%, with both terminal and vellus hair quantities growing. The number of hairs in the anagen phase also increased, suggesting activation of hair growth. No significant adverse events were reported. However, the study was limited by a small population, short follow-up period, and lack of control group. The exact role of the injection-induced impact in the hair re-growth mechanism remains to be ascertained.
