TLDR Systematic reviews on platelet-rich plasma therapy for hair loss have many quality issues.
The study evaluated methodological inconsistencies in systematic reviews and meta-analyses on platelet-rich plasma therapy for pattern hair loss. Out of 15 identified reviews, five exhibited significant issues such as including duplicate data, mixing data from different study designs, misclassifying study designs and treatment comparisons, misinterpreting heterogeneity, and mistaking reporting standards. The findings suggested that future authors should consult the Cochrane Handbook and implement the PRISMA statement to improve the quality of systematic reviews.
