TLDR PHAT may improve hair growth better than PRP alone.
The document is a case series examining the effectiveness of Platelet Rich Plasma Hybridized Adipose Transplant (PHAT) in treating non-scarring alopecia in three patients. The treatment combines PRP with fat transfer and is suggested to improve hair quality and density. The patients, with a mean age of 38.7 years, underwent PHAT and were followed up at 6 months and 1 year. Results showed initial hair loss followed by new hair growth starting at 4 weeks, with improvements maintained at follow-ups. The study concludes that PHAT may be more effective than PRP alone due to the synergistic effect of PRP's healing properties and adipocyte angiogenic signaling. However, the authors acknowledge the need for further clinical studies to understand the treatment better. The level of evidence provided is IV, as it is a case series without controls.
