Effect of Kuntai Capsule Combined with Nilestriol Tablets in the Treatment of Perimenopausal Syndrome and on Reproductive Hormones

The study investigated the efficacy of Kuntai capsules combined with nilestriol tablets in treating perimenopausal syndrome in 108 patients. The observation group, receiving both treatments, showed a greater reduction in the Kupperman menopause index and hot flush scores compared to the control group, which received only nilestriol. After 3 months, the observation group had significantly lower Kupperman index scores (p=0.031) and hot flush scores (p=0.05), though differences in the Kupperman index were not significant after 6 months (p=0.178). Additionally, the observation group exhibited more favorable changes in reproductive hormone levels and blood lipids, with lower levels of follicle stimulating hormone, luteinizing hormone, total cholesterol, and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and higher levels of serum estradiol and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. The findings suggested that Kuntai capsules could be a viable alternative for those with contraindications or concerns regarding hormone therapy.
