TLDR The treatment improved hair health in women with androgenetic alopecia.
The study examined the effects of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) combined with 2% minoxidil on 30 women with stage I-II androgenetic alopecia. Over 3 months, patients received 3 PRP sessions and applied minoxidil twice daily. Results showed that androgenetic alopecia is associated with inflammatory infiltration, imbalance of growth factors, oxidative stress, and collagen accumulation. The treatment normalized these immunohistochemical parameters, suggesting its potential for long-term therapeutic effects. The study enhances understanding of androgenetic alopecia's pathogenesis and supports the use of this treatment combination, though further research is needed to standardize PRP techniques.
