TLDR Platelet-rich plasma can positively affect common hair loss, but more research is needed for standard use.
The document is a review of scientific publications on the use of autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating androgenic alopecia (AGA), a common hair loss condition. The review analyzed 14 clinical studies, 12 of which showed positive results while 2 did not. The studies varied in their methods, including different centrifugation parameters, PRP activators, evaluation methods, and procedure techniques. Studies with negative results typically had fewer procedures (1 or 2) and less reliable evaluation methods. The review concluded that PRP has a positive effect on AGA and can be used alongside approved treatment methods. However, the authors noted that the results of a small number of clinical trials cannot be considered objective, and there is no agreed protocol for the standard use of PRP. They recommended further research for the standardization of this technique.
