TLDR Using both 5% spironolactone and 5% minoxidil together is safe and more effective for treating hair loss.
The study evaluated the efficacy of a combination of 5% topical spironolactone and 5% topical minoxidil solutions in treating androgenetic alopecia (AGA) in 120 patients divided into three groups. Group A used minoxidil, Group B used spironolactone, and Group C used a combination of both. Results showed a reduction in dermoscopic features, particularly vellus hair, which was statistically significant (p=0.011) by the end of 12 weeks. The combination treatment was found to be safe and potentially more effective, suggesting that using both solutions together could enhance treatment outcomes for AGA in both men and women.

The treatment for androgenetic alopecia involves using finasteride and minoxidil with intense exercise and cold exposure to boost metabolism and reduce androgenic effects, potentially leading to hair regrowth. This approach may activate biological pathways for improved hair and overall health.
