TLDR Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) helps treat hair loss effectively, especially when prepared using the double-spin method.
The meta-analysis, which included 257 patients from 9 trials, found that Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) is effective in treating Androgenetic Alopecia (AGA). All trials showed a beneficial effect of PRP, with a standardized mean change value of 1.21 (P < 0.01). The study also found that the double-spin PRP preparation method was more effective than the single-spin method, with a standardized mean change coefficient (SMCC) of 2.66 (P < 0.001) compared to 0.52 (P < 0.001) for the single-spin method. The double-spin method also showed more consistency in results. The study suggests further comparative studies to clarify PRP's efficacy in AGA therapy.
