TLDR Single-spin PRP may be more effective for hair loss, but more research is needed.
This systematic review and meta-analysis compared the efficacy of single-spin versus double-spin platelet-rich plasma (PRP) centrifugation methods in treating androgenic alopecia (AGA) across three randomized controlled trials involving 90 participants. The study found no significant difference in platelet concentration, hair density, or terminal and vellus hair rates between the two methods. However, the results suggest that single-spin PRP centrifugation may be more effective in treating AGA, although the differences were not statistically significant. The study highlights the need for further research to establish a standardized PRP treatment protocol for AGA.
