TLDR Hyaluronic acid injections can cause temporary hair loss, but hair can regrow with early treatment.
This document discusses a case of alopecia in a 23-year-old woman following hyaluronic acid (HA) injections, with complete hair regrowth achieved after four months using Concentrated Growth Factor (CGF), microneedling (MN), and minoxidil. A literature review identified 19 similar cases, mostly in females, with alopecia occurring 1 to 4 weeks post-injection, primarily in the temple region. The study suggests that HA-induced alopecia may result from vascular occlusion and ischemia, emphasizing the importance of early intervention with hyaluronidase (HAase) and a multimodal treatment approach. It highlights the need for preventive measures and further research to confirm these findings in larger studies.
