In a randomized trial, a 655-nm laser helmet increased hair density about 41 hairs/cm² over sham. Split-scalp testing found PRP injections raised density no more than placebo, while in women PRP versus placebo improved photographic scores and density. A safety review reported low-dose oral minoxidil effective and well tolerated, though larger dose-comparing trials are needed. A retrospective series reported combined PRP, microneedling and laser improved hair counts and density. Monthly PRP injections in 50 patients increased density, width and terminal-to-vellus ratio. In vitro, finasteride-loaded iron oxide nanoparticles delivered more drug through skin than controls. In rats, rosuvastatin nanoparticles outgrew marketed minoxidil.
