In 307 men, real-world oral dutasteride improved 90% of monotherapy patients; 2.6% stopped for side effects, all resolving after discontinuation, with none at low doses. A trial found PRP with topical minoxidil improved density more than either alone, while another found manually prepared PRP injections gave no significant improvement in hair count. PLLA thread therapy with minoxidil was reported to improve density more than minoxidil alone. Metabolic syndrome in women was found to blunt response to intradermal dutasteride injections. Reviews called topical ketoconazole and topical antiandrogen therapies potential options with minimal reported adverse effects, though evidence remains preliminary. Synthetic Biofibre hair implants gave high satisfaction with 8.75% minor side effects.
