Platelet-rich plasma injections increased hair density in pattern hair loss in a randomized placebo-controlled trial, while 5% minoxidil foam stabilized density and coverage in frontotemporal and vertex areas. Nape and peri-auricular FUE grafts created natural hairlines with satisfaction sustained at 4.6 years. Spironolactone in women was reported effective for female pattern hair loss. Emerging pattern hair loss therapies included prostaglandin-targeting drugs, low-level light therapy, PRP and robotic transplantation. Hair pain during chemotherapy or tamoxifen was more common and intense with chemotherapy, resolving by week 11. Targeted anticancer therapies carried 14.7% alopecia incidence, highest with vismodegib. Scalp cooling did not prevent radiotherapy-induced alopecia. Intralesional triamcinolone with topical steroids or minoxidil was recommended first-line for alopecia areata, with referral for refractory cases.
