chemotherapy drug that inhibits cancer cell growth

6-Mercaptopurine (6-MP) is a chemotherapy medication used primarily to treat certain types of cancer, such as acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). It works by interfering with the growth of cancer cells, which are then destroyed by the body. 6-MP is also used in the treatment of some autoimmune diseases due to its immunosuppressive properties.
