TLDR Watercress extract helps increase hair growth and thickness by blocking hair loss factors.
The study "Effects of watercress extract fraction on R‐spondin 1‐mediated growth of human hair" investigated the impact of watercress extract (WCE) on hair growth and loss. The research found that WCE significantly increased the secretion of R-spondin 1 (RSPO1), a substance that counteracts the effects of Dickkopf-1 (DKK1), a major hair loss factor. WCE also suppressed the secretion of DKK1, even in the presence of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone linked to hair loss. In an ex vivo experiment, WCE-treated hair follicles elongated 1.6-fold compared to the control. A 6-month clinical trial showed that a hair lotion containing 2% WCE increased hair thickness and density, improving hair loss symptoms. The study concluded that WCE has strong anti-androgenic effects and potential for treating hair loss.

community Opinions on this study for Triphasic Progressive by Rene Furterer

      in Research/Science  14 upvotes 1 year ago
The user shared their 5-year hair loss journey, initially using a product called Triphasic Progressive by Rene Furterer, which gave good results. Later, they switched to FDA-approved medications finasteride and minoxidil, which also helped, but they noticed the most significant progress with Triphasic. They're considering trying it again if minoxidil doesn't show improvements.

The user experienced hair thinning despite using finasteride and switched to a ketoconazole shampoo without sulfates to address scalp itching and dandruff. They hope this will stop further hair thinning.

A user is seeing good results with RU58841 for hair loss, noting reduced shedding and thicker hair. They plan to use pumpkin seed oil as a solvent to avoid water content, which they believe reduces the effectiveness of anti-androgens.

Minoxidil with alcohol and propylene glycol was more effective than non-alcohol versions, and RU58841 worked best in a non-water-based solution. Oral finasteride showed better results than topical, despite side effects; microneedling and tretinoin worsened hair loss, and PRP was only helpful when younger.
