This review discusses the potential of umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (UC-MSCs) in skin rejuvenation, highlighting their ability to delay skin aging. Skin aging, characterized by decreased collagen and elastin synthesis, increased wrinkles, and pigmentation, is influenced by both internal and external factors. UC-MSCs, identified as pluripotent progenitor cells with self-renewal and differentiation capabilities, offer promising therapeutic avenues. The paper emphasizes the importance of understanding the mechanisms of UC-MSCs in combating skin aging to facilitate their clinical application and provides a comprehensive overview of recent findings in this area.
