Low-level light therapy (LLLT) is a non-invasive treatment for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) that works by increasing blood flow, reducing inflammation, and stimulating growth factors. LLLT has been shown to be effective in treating AGA in both men and women by activating signaling pathways in hair follicle cells and perifollicular cells through the production of nitric oxide and modulation of reactive oxygen species. LLLT is a safe and effective treatment for hair loss, including AGA, and is approved by the FDA for treating hair loss. However, more studies are needed to determine long-term safety and efficacy, and to fully understand the mechanisms behind LLLT's effectiveness in treating AGA.
