    GlossaryPerifollicular

    area surrounding hair follicle

Perifollicular refers to the area surrounding a hair follicle. In medical and dermatological contexts, this term is often used to describe conditions or observations, such as inflammation or fibrosis, that occur around the hair follicles. For example, perifollicular inflammation is a common feature in certain types of hair loss, like alopecia areata, where the immune system attacks the hair follicles.

Pioglitazone is suggested for Lichen Planopilaris, while Omega-3s and reducing processed foods may improve sebum quality, though genetic factors play a significant role.
