TLDR Hair transplant boosts self-esteem and appearance satisfaction, especially in those with high self-esteem.
The study investigated the relationship between self-esteem and satisfaction with hair transplantation in male androgenetic alopecia patients. The study found that hair transplantation significantly improved patients' postoperative self-esteem and satisfaction with appearance. Patients with high self-esteem showed better satisfaction with hair transplantation compared with those with low self-esteem. The study suggests that plastic surgeons should offer guidance based on patients' psychological state to improve postoperative satisfaction. The study included 1106 male AGA patients who completed a 9-month postoperative questionnaire.
