This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial involving 100 adults assessed the efficacy and safety of Gynostemma pentaphyllum (GP) extract for hair health enhancement. Over 24 weeks, participants consuming GP extract experienced significant improvements in hair elasticity, density, and diameter compared to the placebo group, with a threefold increase in elasticity and density and a fourfold increase in diameter. Subjective satisfaction scores supported these findings, indicating reduced hair damage and dryness. No significant changes in hair glossiness were noted, and safety evaluations showed no severe adverse events, highlighting GP extract's potential as a safe and effective ingredient for hair care.
