TLDR DSC cell injections significantly improved hair density and diameter, showing potential as a hair loss treatment.
This study examined the use of autologous cell-based therapy using dermal sheath cup (DSC) cells to treat male and female pattern hair loss. The study involved 65 subjects who received DSC cell injections, and the results showed that DSC cell injections led to a significant increase in total hair density, cumulative hair diameter, and mean hair diameter compared to the placebo. The study suggests that autologous cell-based therapy using DSC cells may be a promising treatment for male and female pattern hair loss. However, further studies are needed to determine the best concentration of cells and treatment regimen.
