TLDR A multidisciplinary approach is crucial for effectively managing hair loss linked to endocrine and gynecological disorders.
Hair loss, influenced by modern lifestyle pressures, is significantly impacted by endocrine and gynaecological disorders, which alter hair growth mechanisms. Nutritional deficiencies contribute to conditions like telogen effluvium and androgenetic alopecia. Effective management strategies include lifestyle changes, nutritional support, hormone replacement therapy, and topical treatments, focusing on addressing underlying endocrine and nutritional issues. The consensus highlights the importance of a multidisciplinary approach involving dermatologists, nutritionists, endocrinologists, and gynaecologists to provide a comprehensive treatment plan for conditions such as hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, polycystic ovary syndrome, and hair loss during postmenopausal and postpartum periods, ultimately improving patient outcomes.
