TLDR Minoxidil shampoo showed slight hair growth but needs longer testing for clear results.
This double-blind clinical trial conducted in 2015 involved 60 patients with androgenetic alopecia to evaluate the effects of Minoxidil 1 shampoo. Participants were divided into intervention and control groups, with the intervention group using Minoxidil 1 shampoo every other day for 4 months, while the control group used a placebo shampoo. Results showed a slight increase in both vellus and terminal hair counts in the intervention group compared to the control group, but the differences were not statistically significant (p=0.19 for vellus hair and p=0.27 for terminal hair). The study concluded that while Minoxidil shampoo had some positive effects, the 3-month duration was too short to draw definitive conclusions, and longer-term studies were recommended.
