TLDR Using both minoxidil and platelet-rich plasma therapy together is more effective for hair growth in women than using minoxidil alone.
The study aimed to analyze and assess the effectiveness of different treatment modalities in female androgenetic alopecia (AGA). 60 female patients between 18-50 years of age were randomly divided into two groups. The first group received only topical 2% minoxidil, while the second group received a combination of 2% minoxidil and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy injections. The patients were evaluated every 2 months for a period of 6 months. The study found that the combination therapy of minoxidil and PRP was more effective in promoting hair growth compared to minoxidil alone. The study concluded that non-invasive management for AGA, such as combination therapy, is a safe and promising tool for hair growth with better patient compliance and fewer side effects.
