TLDR Low-level light therapy with a helmet device can increase hair density and improve scalp appearance.
In a study conducted over 24 weeks involving 50 subjects, the use of a helmet-shaped low-level light therapy (LLLT) device for 20 minutes daily was found to significantly improve hair density and thickness (p<0.001 for both). Additionally, 91.84% (n=45) of the participants showed an increase in the Global Aesthetic Improvement Scale (GAIS) score after 24 weeks of treatment, indicating an improvement in scalp appearance. However, there were no significant changes in sebum secretion and erythema index. The study concluded that LLLT administered via a helmet device can enhance hair growth and improve the appearance of the scalp.
