TLDR Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide helps hair growth by activating the WNT signaling pathway.
The study demonstrates that Dendrobium officinale polysaccharide (DOP) promotes hair growth and follicle regeneration by activating the WNT signaling pathway. Using mouse models and cell cultures, DOP was found to enhance the biological functions of dermal papilla cells (DPCs) and mouse vascular endothelial cells (MVECs), leading to improved hair regeneration and neovascularization. Key proteins like β-catenin and Cyclin D1 were upregulated, and inhibiting the WNT pathway reversed DOP's beneficial effects, highlighting the pathway's critical role. The findings suggest DOP's potential as a therapeutic agent for treating hair loss.
