TLDR Fullerene nanomaterials help hair grow faster and increase hair follicles.
The study examined the effects of fullerene nanomaterials on hair growth using shaved mice, SKH-1 "bald" mice, and human skin sections in culture. Results showed that fullerenes significantly increased the rate of hair growth and the number of hair follicles in both shaved and hairless mice compared to controls. Fullerene derivatives applied topically or subdermally also promoted hair growth in human skin sections. These findings suggested that fullerene nanomaterials could be beneficial for treating hair loss conditions such as alopecia, chemotherapy-induced hair loss, and chemical reactions.
