TLDR Dendrobium candidum polysaccharides promote hair growth.
The study investigated the effects of Dendrobium candidum polysaccharides (DCP) on hair growth using 30 C57BL/6J mice. The mice were divided into three groups: control, positive control (minoxidil), and DCP. Over 21 days, hair growth was evaluated, and results showed that the DCP group had significantly higher hair growth scores and hair weight compared to the control group. Additionally, DCP increased the survival rate and mRNA expression of VEGF in HaCaT cells, suggesting that DCP promotes hair growth potentially through up-regulation of VEGF mRNA expression.
