TLDR There is no causal relationship between androgenetic alopecia and serum uric acid.
The study utilized bidirectional Mendelian randomization to investigate the causal relationship between androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and serum uric acid (SUA). Various methods, including inverse-variance weighted (IVW), were employed, but no significant causal relationship was found between AGA and SUA (IVW method: OR = 1.00, 95% CI 0.99–1.01; p = 0.451) or between SUA and AGA (IVW method: OR = 0.97, 95% CI = 0.91–1.03; p = 0.301). The results were consistent across different methods. The study concludes that there is no causal relationship between AGA and SUA, suggesting the need for future research with larger cohorts and advanced methods.
