TLDR Men with early onset hair loss are more likely to have high uric acid levels.
This study investigated the relationship between early onset androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and hyperuricemia (HU), a condition characterized by elevated serum uric acid (SUA) levels. The study found that men with early onset AGA tend to have higher SUA levels compared to controls, although the difference was not statistically significant. However, a higher number of AGA patients were hyperuricemic compared to the control group, with a statistically significant difference (Chi square test P=0.03, Odds ratio=0.39). There was no correlation found between the severity of alopecia or the age of the subjects with SUA levels.
