TLDR The new shampoo effectively delivers caffeine to hair follicles to help keep hair, especially as people age.
The study "Follicular Delivery of Caffeine from a Shampoo for Hair Retention" tested a new shampoo formulation on 9 male participants to measure its effectiveness in delivering caffeine to hair follicles. The results showed that 8-9% of the caffeine absorbed into the skin was recovered in the hair follicles, matching the performance of an existing caffeine-based shampoo. The study concluded that this new shampoo formulation effectively delivers beneficial antioxidants, including caffeine, to improve hair retention, especially useful in retaining hair during aging.
