TLDR Treating scalp issues with anti-dandruff shampoo improves hair health.
The study, involving 300 subjects over 24 weeks, demonstrated that oxidative stress significantly impacted scalp health and hair quality, particularly in conditions like dandruff and seborrhoeic dermatitis. Higher levels of oxidative stress markers, such as HODE, were found in affected individuals. Treatment with a potentiated ZPT shampoo significantly reduced oxidative stress and improved both scalp and hair health, achieving over 70% reduction in HODE levels after 16 weeks. The findings highlighted the importance of managing oxidative stress to improve scalp conditions and hair quality, as damage from oxidative stress in pre-emergent hair cannot be repaired once the hair has emerged.

community Why don’t more people use hair fibers?

in Product  527 upvotes 3 months ago
Hair fibers can effectively cover thinning hair when used with minoxidil and hairspray but require daily application and can be inconvenient in certain conditions. Some users prefer treatments like finasteride, dutasteride, microneedling, or wigs due to the maintenance and limitations of hair fibers.

Quitting vaping significantly reduced hair loss for a user who was a heavy vaper and also taking finasteride. Some participants suggest nicotine's vasoconstrictive properties may worsen hair loss, while others share personal anecdotes of hair improvement after quitting smoking or vaping.

The conversation discusses alternative hair loss treatments beyond the commonly used Minoxidil and Finasteride. One user is trying diclofenac gel, caffeine + antioxidant serum, finasteride, ketoconazole shampoo, and has stopped using Minoxidil due to ineffectiveness, while another user has adopted lifestyle changes like exercise, diet, stress reduction, and topical caffeine, along with scalp massages and microneedling.
