TLDR Exprecell™ is as effective as traditional methods but produces more f-PRF and is simpler to use.
This study evaluated the efficacy of an anticoagulant-free, single soft-spin centrifugation device, Exprecell™, for preparing autologous fluid-Platelet-Rich Fibrin (f-PRF) from blood. Sixteen healthy volunteers participated, and the Exprecell™ system was compared to the Arthrex ACP ® Double-Syringe system. Results showed that Exprecell™ produced 20% more f-PRF volume with excellent cellular depletion and similar platelet counts and function between systems. Although most growth factors were below detection limits, the detectable ones showed no differences between devices. The study concluded that Exprecell™ offers functional equivalence to conventional methods with increased volume yield and procedural simplicity, supporting its clinical utility. Future studies are needed to confirm the clinical benefits of f-PRF obtained using this method.
