Microneedling for hair loss was found to increase hair count more than minoxidil alone, with combination adding benefit. PRP by dermapen microneedling was reported to beat point-by-point injection for density. Low-dose oral minoxidil was found to increase hair density and thickness. Topical finasteride spray was shown to improve hair count over placebo with efficacy similar to oral finasteride. Setipiprant for pattern hair loss was reported no better than placebo. Topical minoxidil, finasteride and spironolactone were recommended as first-line treatments for transgender patients. Beard and torso hair transplants were found to give cosmetic benefit when scalp donor hair is insufficient. Minoxidil and finasteride were concluded the only pattern-hair-loss drugs with solid evidence. Eight conditions were listed as ruling out transplant candidacy. Hair transplant complications were reported minor and rare, with no life-threatening events, though careful counselling minimizes them.
