Small-dose botulinum toxin A in Chinese patients was reported effective for androgenetic alopecia. A home-use laser helmet improved hair density and diameter over 24 weeks. Three months of PRP injections raised hair count 27% and thickened hairs on dermoscopy. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies may contribute to hair loss, though the review found evidence too weak to recommend supplementation without proven deficiency. Finasteride 1 mg in Korean men improved hair loss in 86% after five years, with the vertex responding best. A photo grading scale showed high inter- and intra-rater reliability. Low pre-surgery self-esteem predicted worse satisfaction after hair transplant. A UK Biobank analysis identified 624 genetic loci for male pattern baldness.
